Our business
OMK integrates manufacturers and traders of ferrous metals, transport companies, financial and research institutions.
The OMK business is diversified. Our products are used in many segments of the consumer market. They may be called “consumables” demanded by key industries – fuel and energy complex, civil engineering, chemical production, electronics, etc.
The Company’s business is focused on two main productions – production of pipes for the fuel and energy complex and production of railroad wheels. OMK controls 18,8% of the pipe consumer market, including 35.7% of the large-diameter pipe segment. The OMK enterprises manufacture practically all types of pipes used in the national economy. Our company offers them in the domestic market and exports to the CIS and overseas countries.
OMK is an uncontested leader in production of solid-rolled railroad wheels. The Company share in the Russian market is more than 60%. In 2003, the Company signed a contract with the largest Russian railroad wheel consumer – “Russian Railways” PLC - on supply of five million wheels until 2010. The quality of the OMK railroad wheels is recognized world wide. Traditional buyers of OMK wheels include General Electric, Samsung, etc.
OMK manufactures and exports ferrovanadium produced at the Chusovoy Steel Works. The Company share in the Russian ferrovanadium market is 30%.
Two Urals OMK subsidiaries - Gubakha Coke and Chusovoy Steel Works – are mainly involved in production of rolled section steel, cast iron, coke and chemical products.
OMK is a leader in production of automobile springs, which are manufactured the Chusovoy Metallurgical Works . The OMK share in the Russian automobile spring market is more than 70%.
OMK is a sole Russian producer of precision steel for shadow masks of high-resolution TV picture tubes and computer monitors, which production is mastered at the Shchelkovo Steel Works. The quality of the OMK metals meets the highest international standards and is confirmed with the respective certificates.
