Vyksa Steel Works
The Vyksa Steel Works, founded in 1757, is one of historical centers of Russian metallurgy. Its production potential is over 2 million tonnes of pipes per year. The plant is rightfully considered to be one of the most advanced enterprises in Russia. In 1999, a complex reorganization of the plant management system and modernization of production processes took place. The potential of the enterprise enables it to produce virtually all types of longitudinal welded pipes needed in various industries. The main products of the enterprise are steel pipes with diameter ranging from 15 to 1420 mm with a wall thickness of up to 48 mm, they are designed for oil and gas transportation, and well casing for oil- and gas-field construction. The pipes produced have two- and three-layer polyethylene corrosion-resistant coating. The technology and equipment of the Vyksa Steel Works correspond to the highest international standards. The plant is the leader in the pipe market and the world's biggest producer of solid rolled railroad wheels for passenger and freight cars, engines and subway trains. The quality of the Vyksa Steel Works is acknowledged within and outside Russia.
