OMK is one of Russia’s biggest manufacturers supplying its products to leading energy, transportation and industrial companies. OMK produces pipes for different purposes, railroad wheels, automobile springs, rolled metal, cast iron, ferrovanadium, coke, ultrathin steel bands.
• OMK was established in 1992.
• OMK includes six big metallurgical enterprises: Vyksa Steel Works (Nizhniy Novgorod Region), Almetyevsk Pipe Plant (Republic of Tatarstan), Chusovoy Steel Works (Perm Region), Gubakha Coke (Perm Region), Shchelkovo Steel Works (Moscow Region), Trubodetal plant (Cheliabinsk Region).
• In 2006, OMK products accounted for 18,8% of pipes consumed in Russia, including 35,7% of large diameter pipes, over 60% of railroad wheels, and more than 70% of automobile springs.
• OMK is the only Russian producer of precision steel used for the production of shadow masks for television tubes and computer displays.
• The overall number of OMK employees exceeds 27,000.
